The social security system in Poland is based on three pillars, as shown in the picture below:
Pension entitlements are acquired in Poland upon fulfilling the following conditions:
- achieving the appropriate age – 60 years for women and 65 years for men;
- documenting the contribution period – 20 years for women and 25 years for men.
In some circumstances, after fulfilling certain criteria, earlier retirement is possible.
